In an inspiring cultural milestone, the Indian Folk Art Corridor proudly presents “DHAROHAR”, a majestic art exhibition that brings the essence of India’s timeless traditions to the global stage. Hosted at the Nehru Centre, London from 26th to 30th May 2025, DHAROHAR is more than an art show—it is a heartfelt tribute to India’s rich cultural legacy, vibrant communities, and diverse regional expressions.
A Tapestry of Traditions Under One Roof
For the very first time in London, DHAROHAR will showcase over 25 traditional Indian folk and tribal art forms—from the earthy tones of Warli and Sohrai, to the intricate storytelling of Madhubani, Gond, Kalighat, and Pattachitra. This immersive event unites traditions from every corner of India, including lesser-known yet historically rich art forms like Cheriyal, Kurumbha, Mandana, Santhal, Tholu Bommalata, and Phad.
Each artwork is a window into India’s soul, echoing ancestral wisdom, devotional expressions, and everyday life—crafted lovingly by artists who carry forward centuries-old legacies.
The Visionary Behind DHAROHAR
At the heart of this movement is Vidisha Pandey, a multi-talented artist, curator, and the founder of Vidisha’s Creations and the Indian Folk Art Corridor. Trained in eight different Indian art forms herself, Vidisha’s mission is to revive and globalize India’s folk art traditions—not merely as “Indian art,” but in their authentic forms with regional identity and pride.
Following the success of her earlier exhibition “PANKHUDEE” in Dubai, organized under the patronage of the Indian Consulate, DHAROHAR marks another important step in her journey to empower folk artists and keep traditional stories alive in a modern world.
